ABOUT US

Our vision from day one was simple yet vital: to provide timely, reliable ambulance service to their families, neighbors, and surrounding communities.

The Suburban Story

Suburban EMS began in 1953 as the Suburban Fire and Rescue Company, founded by dedicated volunteers in Palmer Township, PA. With just two ambulances, Suburban Fire and Rescue served Palmer Township, Wilson Borough, and West Easton laying the foundation for the modern organization we are today. By 1958, the company became Suburban EMS, moving into its permanent headquarters on Freemansburg Avenue, where we still operate more than 72 years later.

Today
Suburban EMS has grown into a leading 501(c)(3) non-profit, serving 19 municipalities across 232 square miles and more than 126,000 residents. Our staff of skilled EMTs, AEMTs and paramedics responds with professionalism and compassion, while our non-emergency transport services ensure patients safely reach hospitals, senior living facilities, hospice organizations, and rehabilitation centers.

Beyond emergency response, Suburban EMS invests in community health offering CPR and AED training, fire rehabilitation support, and educational programs in schools and at local events. Guided by our Board of Directors and Administrative Staff, we remain an independent, community-driven organization dedicated to advancing pre-hospital care and ensuring the well-being of those we serve.
